Semaphore - Green Thomas
Semaphore, a system of sending messages through flag positions, felt apt during the pandemic's isolation. As streets emptied and shortages rose, collaboration offered a break from monotony. Green Thomas, a non-gender-specific brand known for bold patterns and colour, approached Sarah Colson for a collaboration on the 'Hitch Bag.'
Founded by Emma Green and Alan Thomas Dibble, Green Thomas, established in 2015, shuns trend-driven collections, opting for timeless aesthetics. Their Instagram connection led to a lively Zoom meeting, sparking a creative synergy. Combining Sarah's design expertise with Green Thomas's bold prints, they explored digitally printed canvas for the bags. Semaphore patterns, adapted from Green Thomas's archives, defined the collection's bold aesthetic, with colour limitations inspiring unique colour palettes.
Designed amid COVID-19, the bags symbolise hope beyond the pandemic, offering practicality and style. Confident and vibrant, the bags cater to discerning shoppers eager to express themselves after prolonged isolation.
